At the 9th Annual Private Antitrust Enforcement Conference and Awards Dinner, held in Washington, DC, on November 18, 2015, Renae Steiner and fellow trial counsel received the American Antitrust Institute's award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice for their trial and appellate victories in O'Bannon v. NCAA.

The criteria for the annual award includes (1) the benefits realized by clients, consumers, or class members and (2) the positive development of antitrust policy. Renae commented, "this award is a real honor: recognition from law school professors and antitrust economists and practitioners for the six-plus years of work on behalf of a class of current and former college athletes, which will bring increased benefits to college athletes in recognition of the commercial licensing of their names, images, and likenesses by the universities."

Earlier in the day, Steiner presented on a conference panel titled, "Developments in Antitrust Cases Against Sports Leagues."
